One-year route map for post-16 resit students
Our one-year route map is tailored for resit students and supports the delivery of GCSE Maths 8300 over one year.
It has been produced by experienced maths specialist Julia Smith.
This route map is intended as a revision programme for students who have already achieved a grade D or grade 3 in GCSE.
It comprises three 10-week terms, the average schedule within post-16 education, and focuses on the key topics that will help students achieve a grade 4 or better. It builds upon the body of knowledge that students have at the start of the course but does not attempt to cover the whole specification content at either tier. Find out how West Suffolk college improved their GCSE Maths resit pass rate and how AQA's one-year route map helped acheive that.
Julia has also put together three sets of basic skills questions to help you identify gaps in students' knowledge of basic maths skills at the start of a resist course.
- For full coverage of the GCSE Maths 8300 specification, please consult our Teaching guidance and/or Specification.
- Many of the resources in this one-year route map (eg activities, worksheets, topic tests) have been pulled directly from our two-year and three-year route maps. This is because of their suitability and compatibility with the course. They have however been relabelled to ensure they are regarded as separate resources.
