AQA

One-year route map

Our one-year route map is tailored for resit students and the delivery of GCSE Maths 8300 over one year.

It has been produced by experienced maths specialist Julia Smith.

This route map is intended as a revision programme for students who have already achieved a grade D or grade 3 in GCSE.

It comprises three 10-week terms, which is an average schedule of time within post-16 education, based on Julia’s experience and knowledge of the key topics for high student performance.

The focus of route map is the key topics that will help students achieve a grade 4 or better. It builds upon the body of knowledge that students start off with but does not attempt to cover the whole specification content at either tier.

Please consult the full Rationale document here. A PowerPoint version of this Route Map can be found below. An interactive Route Map is also available.

Julia has also put together three sets of basic skills questions to help you identify gaps in students' knowledge of basic maths skills at the start of a resist course.

Guidance

  • This Route Map does not contain all of the specification content for GCSE Maths 8300. For full coverage, please consult our Teaching Guidance and/or Specification document.
  • Many of the resources in this 1-year Route Map (e.g. Activities, Worksheets, Topic Tests) have been pulled directly from our 2-year/3-year Route Map. This is due to their suitability and compatibility with the course. They have however been relabelled to ensure they are regarded as separate resources.
